All reviewsThis was our first visit to Field of Greens. We were merely in the mood for something to do, so why not a rousing round of putt putt golf? F of G sits on the same grounds as Toad Valley Golf Course just south of Altoona and SE Polk High School. We checked in at the clubhouse, greeted by wecoming staff, paid our "green fees" and we were off. The course is extremely well maintained with very attractive landscaping and water features. The holes themselves present a challenge for making par unless you have some skill with a putter or you can read the greens with their abundance of dips and bumps. The downside was that we finished too fast! 18 holes in 30 minutes. But that is explained because we were the only ones on the course-- no waiting. All in all, a fun time. We hadn't been on a mini golf course since... Best of all, we'll go back.
It was not bad for a mini golf course. I enjoyed the course design, but some parts were a little unkept from what you see in the pictures. I would also recommend not going in the heat of summer like we did since there is no shade at all, this also caused it to smell slightly around hole 12.
Nicely groomed course, carpet clean and in good shape. Various border bricks loose and several ponds out of order, especially one hole where the ball needs water to complete the hole. All said, it was a good time.
Great waitstaff and very reasonable prices. Awesome with kiddos too.
Went there 7/13/19 in the morning and a massive amount of hornets have burrowed into dirt/rock features and were swarming all over the mini golf course. Scared my kids to death. Had to skip over 2/3s of the course. Really appreciate the staff responding to our concerns, but families who do not know whether their children are allergic to stinging insects should be aware of the potential danger. To be clear, this wasn't a natural part of being in an outdoor environment. A few hornets, wasps, bees buzzing around--yep, that's fine. Dozens of inch-long hornets concentrated on a mini golf course where children are: Not fine. Fix it and I'll modify my review.
Friendly staff, convenient parking, well-priced, not too crowded but steady flow. Fun, challenging holes. Less schmaltz, more focus on golf-like challenges.
Was cool for 10 dollars but the bugs were awful, bring bug spray!
We have been there twice in the last 3 weeks. Always a great time! Reasonably priced very friendly staff. Will be definitely going again soon
