Gruene Mini Golf

Four! Watch out for this place on your next visit to Gruene. Being such a historic and fun town, this is a great fun option for all ages. The course is small, but adorable. When you get there, you stop at the front part where the clubs and balls are, pay for your trip, and then you have to go get in line to jump in the fun. You can go through the course one time if that’s all you have time for, or you can keep going and play again for the “back 9”. It gets a little confusing when they’re busy, just keep a positive attitude and you’ll have fun. (We had to figure that part out when we went and we had a blast.) Are you an adult only group? No problem, we were too when we went. They have NA and alcoholic drinks to choose from and enjoy when you’re putting around. This place is in the heart of it all, so you can keep going on with your day when you’re done - walking distance to local stores and restaurants.

After seeing this featured on Texas Bucketlist, we knew we had to go next time we were in the area. We are so glad we did! It was a lot of fun, cooled with misters, and well thought out. We appreciated all the kinds to the area. Such a great idea!

Fun atmosphere. Play 9 and then come back around for another 9 (each hole has 2 holes to play). Price was $12 adult and $10 kids. Didn’t feel any pressure to go fast (nice when you got multiple kids running around). Also had a food truck that has drinks and beer. Very clean. Port-a-potties right behind the women’s outfitters building in case needed.

Such a fun experience! Took about 1.5 hours on a busy Friday; was a good experience. Very family friendly. Kids and families were able to enjoy. The atmosphere is cute. Drinks for sale at food trailer.

Okay, so they get points for aesthetics. The place is super cute and super fun for taking photos! Stars are for cuteness. However ....it really is not a great mini golf course. It's actually quite boring. I can't imagine we'd go back to spend almost $50 as a family. There are 9 greens with 2 holes each, so you go around and aim for all the yellow flags, then you go around again and aim for the Texas flags. The holes are literally almost right beside each other. Almost none of the holes had any barriers or anything that makes mini golf challenging, interesting, and fun. If you enjoy hitting the ball straight at the hole with nothing in your way, I guess it's perfect. I think they could remedy this easily. Also, there are wood walkways in between each green and there were already a bunch of loose boards even though it's new. They are a tripping hazard. We went on a Saturday and there was zero crowd control. They did not pace people playing. Any number of people could approach the course at the same time so there were huge back-ups. We were waiting behind 4 families or so at EVERY hole. I'm confident they can figure out how to address this and control how many groups should be starting at once. It is quite small so people were standing on our green as they waited their turn at the next hole. Which made us have to wait longer and ended up making every line behind us even longer in turn. So, it's definitely cute and you will enjoy taking photos, but it feels kind of like a tourist trap. It's not the best place to play mini golf. The photo attached shows one of the holes in its entirety. Not much of a challenge!

Such a fun little course to play while waiting for dinner at one of Gruene’s restaurants. Super cute!

Great family friendly activity! Affordable, quick if you want to move fast or you can go through twice to spend longer.
