Our family’s favorite mini golf spot, hands down. We found Matterhorn Mini Golf during a full-on “mini golf madness” day where we hit six different courses across northwest CT—and this one blew the others away. It’s Swiss-themed with fun, creative holes and quirky Alpine charm throughout. The course is genuinely challenging but never frustrating, with clever obstacles and handcrafted details at every turn. You can really feel the pride and love the owner puts into the place—she’s there every time we visit, welcoming players and keeping everything spotless. Don’t miss the soft serve either—they’ve got tasty flavor twists that hit the spot after a round. And the final hole? It’s a giant cuckoo clock. Sink your ball in it, and you win a prize. Just a great, family-run gem that we can’t recommend highly enough. If you’re anywhere near the area, go.

The best mini golf place I’ve ever been to! Fun theme and well-designed, creative course. We got more and more excited by each hole we did. Love the challenges, fun facts, and how well-kept the course is. The attendants were also very nice and played into the theme! Soft serve was a great way to end it :)

What a unique and fun miniature golf course! We loved it. Owner was so nice and helpful, she designed this amazing course herself. We are a little biased because we have traveled to Switzerland and had the pleasure of being in the alps, but you’ll love it too.

One Star The mini golf course itself was creative and a lot of fun — great theming and a strong start. Unfortunately, the experience was significantly overshadowed by the behavior of the woman working at the front, who I believe is the owner or manager. From the beginning, she gave very strict instructions about returning clubs and redeeming our ice cream tokens, which was fine. But at the end of the game, as I was trying to figure out where to return my club, she very loudly — almost shouting — directed me where to go. Her tone was rude and abrupt, and it caught me completely off guard, triggering anxiety and panic. The layout for returning clubs is confusing to begin with, which didn’t help. When we went to get our ice cream, no one was attending the machine. When we let her know, she responded with, “How am I supposed to know you need ice cream?” — despite actively watching the security cameras and directing her staff from the front desk. Everything felt unnecessarily intense, including the strange rule of only being allowed to hand over one token at a time. The ice cream was underwhelming and very small. This could’ve been such a great experience, but the aggressive customer service ruined it. For people with anxiety or sensitivity to tone, this environment may be especially uncomfortable. A little kindness and clearer signage would go a long way.

Went as a family of 6 for a fun day and the owner ruined our experience. She had an awful attitude towards us from the second we walked in. She told us we needed to do two separate teams which we were fine with. However, when our first team was done they started at the next hole and while one person from our group was about to hit, the other two were watching our second group as they were waiting for their turn to hit. Then, the owner came out and started yelling at us that we can’t all play at one hole. We tried to calmly tell her we weren’t playing at one hole and were simply watching our second team play as we were waiting until it was one of our turns to go, again, she started yelling again and telling us that wasn’t allowed which she did not say at the start. Thankfully she gave us a full refund when we decided to leave. On our way out the door, in a snarky tone she yelled, “GOOD LUCK FINDING ANOTHER PLACE THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO PLAY AS A FAMILY OF 6!” We went up the street to River Front Mini Golf and Ice Cream and we were able to play as a family of six peacefully. As you reply, we say that we agreed to play in two groups inside and did not do so on the course, We did play as two groups on the course. Because like I said before, as our first group moved on to the next hole, two out of the three people were watching the first group while waiting for their turn to hit the ball. So the owner had no reason to come out yelling at us, especially when we tried to explain to her that we were playing as two groups.

We had SO much fun at this course. The owner was so stinking cute and friendly. We enjoyed learning about the history and details of Matterhorn Mini Golf. She was kind enough to let us store our iced coffees in the fridge in the lobby. This was the most thoughtful and creative mini golf course I have been on. You can tell that knowledge, attention to detail, and love went into the facility. The landscaping was beautiful, the course was interesting and challenging, and the Swiss facts were so fun! I highly recommend playing here and I can't wait to go back!

It's really hard for a place to manage to ruin a mini golf experience, but this place figured out a way. The golf course is is great. The holes are interesting and challenging. Unfortunately the two women who run the place were rude, micro-managed our experience, and made everyone in our party feel uncomfortable. My 9 year old son was choosing a putter, and one woman directed him to one that was too short for him. When he politely told her he would like the longer one (he plays golf; he knows how long his putter should be), she told him no and he needed the shorter one. He repeated himself and she condescendingly insisted. I finally jumped in and told him he could choose whatever putter he wanted to use, and she backed off. By the way, I've played golf for 35 years - he was correct. When our group was playing a bit slow, one of the women approached us. Instead of kindly and respectfully asking us to speed up, she instead brought a second scorecard and passive-aggesssively said "your other group already finished. It'll take you at least 45 minutes to finish at the pace you're playing. I brought you another scorecard in case you want to split up into two groups." First of all, splitting up does not speed up mini golf. Second, we finished in approximately 13 minutes. Third, there was nobody within 2 holes of us. Maybe just leave us alone instead of ruining our experience for no reason? Also, nobody doesn't return to a mini golf course because someone in front of them is playing slowly. But nobody returns after that type of experience. A few other things happened after we finished, but I'm tired of writing about these people. Not recommended.

THE PERFECT mini golf spot! Autumn the owner/ designer of the course was so friendly welcoming, and excited to talk with us about Switzerland 🇨🇭 Her dog Mulligan is a total sweet heart. My husband was pointing out all the attention to detail that made this course all the more charming. The golf course was fun and just challenging enough. Will definitely be back with friends 🧡
