We loved this place! We were visiting from California and originally searched for an arcade, Dave & Buster’s came up first, but I’m so glad we kept looking and found this local treasure instead. It felt like the real Alaska: friendly, nostalgic, and full of character. You can tell this place has been the backdrop for so many great childhood memories. We even met Andrew, who recently started working there, he was kind enough to jump in and play a variety of games with us, which was perfect because we were a group of three and needed a fourth! If you’re looking for a fun spot that’s authentic, welcoming, and full of stories, definitely stop by. Highly recommend!

Price is great for kids!! Talking 5 bucks ages 17 and under! The place has a definite basement musky smell but it is good old fashioned fun! I love Mini golf and few games to enjoy afterwards in the game lounge. It really is a value type place for the night. Unless you are an ooh and ahh type person you will like it too. Otherwise go blow all your money at Dave and Busters. We made the best of this place and had a blast!!! Did I mention the value?! Yes, with kids this is the best night out you CAN afford. Clean fun.

Great venue that seems to keep getting better every weekend with new vendors. Great place to do holiday shopping and just find some great items for myself and home. Amazing photographer who does great mini sessions.

Was blown away at all the little shops they have inside wasn't expecting what was available inside tons of little knick knacks as well as clothing, old and new, furniture, artwork, everything! Friday nights 7 to 10 there is live music and food. Great atmosphere. I go there often just to see the new items in stock. Changes almost every day even have a real motorcycle inside for sale. Even fur pelts

Definitely a hidden gem of Anchorage. The miniature golf is in the basement of The Castle on O'Malley which initially feels a bit murdery, but as soon as you step inside the door you'll immediately smile and be glad you went! Along with the hand painted murals that deck the walls along the miniature golf part. You'll also find pool tables, foosball, darts, a little kids play set, and a "bring your own movie" theater all beautifully decorated to feel so comfortable and cheery.

The Castle on O'Malley Miniature Golf Review I'd like to start with the few positive things about our experience at this place before moving on to the overwhelming bad things. The Good: 1. It's unique and creatively thought out in the many fun activities it offers, including an electric train that drives around the perimeter of the room along the ceiling (our 3 year old thought it was SO COOL), an old school juke box with tons of songs to choose from, a creatively designed mini golf course complete with live fish in a pond. Beautiful murals painted on the walls with a snowy mountain chalet theme. We loved the vintage, old school vibe. 2. The girl who was at the desk was friendly and informative and did not "hawk" watch us while we played. 3. We had fun. Our family enjoyed a fun and competitive, and at times, challenging round of mini golf. We made some good memories despite the rough surroundings. Unfortunately, we will not likely be returning to this establishment unless they make drastic changes because of: The Bad: The #1 complaint is that this place is a HEALTH HAZARD. The entrance descends deep into a truly dungeon-like basement, which could be a cool concept since it's underneath "The Castle on O'Malley". What isn't cool is how you step into this basement and are absolutely slammed with an overwhelming odor of MOLD and MILDEW. If we hadn't come for our 11 year old's birthday, we'd have turned right around and walked out, but she's been looking forward to doing this family activity and we decided to make the most of it. However, I was truly concerned that we were being exposed to toxic levels of mold while there. My 3 year old was rubbing his eyes repetitively by the time we left. I'm even more concerned for the young people who work there every day. I'd be shocked if they weren't having chronic health issues and they'd probably have a legit case against their employer for unhealthy workplace environment. To tell you the truth, I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down by the Health Dept. 2. The place is old. That doesn't have to mean that it's gross, but unfortunately, it does. It's very dusty and dirty and clearly not well maintained. The bathroom was dark, damp, and absolutely disgusting. The only roll of toilet paper was sitting on the dirty, damp floor. There were soggy paper towels laying on the floor. 3. Since this is in a basement, there are pipes running all along the ceilings and many of them have condensation, dropping water right onto the floor, your head, the carpets. Some spots on the carpet were literally squishy from so much water dripping. 4. In one corner of the room there was literally a large hole that went down into the ground. Large enough for a person to fall into... They had it somewhat blocked off, but a sneaky small child could easily find their way into it if no one was looking (and honestly, no one really is). I believe the hole does have a purpose --seemed to be part of the water pump configuration for the pond, but still, not a good look for a business. 5. We had read online that you just paid one fee and had access to the whole place for the rest of the day. That must have changed because we actually would have had to pay extra to play pool, air hockey, or other games. We were able to play a couple games of Foosball in addition to the mini golf, but didn't want to pay extra for everything else... 6. In a place like this, it'd have been so nice to see some food and beverages offered. Even if they were in vending machines. I could see kids hanging out here for hours if they could fuel and hydrate themselves without having to leave. All in all I think there is LOADS of potential in this place, and I can imagine it was very special in its prime. I envision it being something magical during Christmastime. But unfortunately it's been too neglected for too long. It needs a mold remediation company to come in and do a complete restoration. If it could be cleaned up and made safe, the vintage vibe would actually be quite charming and nostalgic.
